Science, Technology & High Adventure!

 

BSA Troop 59's focus will reinforce the core principals of the Boy Scouts of America by providing our scouts the opportunity to grow their critical thinking, collaboration and communications skills, all in an environment that fosters creativity. Our goal is not to be just another Boy Scout Troop, but to create a new and different scouting experience. Troop 59 will focus on Science, the Outdoors, and Technology, and the critical role each plays in how scouts perceive and interact with the physical world.  Let's not forget the scouts will experience the high adventure thrills that have been a hallmark of the scouting program since its inception.

Troop 59 is going strong, and we are working to build a best-in-class Troop. This effort requires the ongoing commitment of a core group of Adult Leaders, and you the parents, in order to build and grow the Troop. We are pleased to introduce the leadership team of Troop 59:

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS A boy who meets the minimum age requirement of 11 years old, or has completed the fifth grade, or has earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old may join. Each boy joining Troop 59 must complete and provide the following:

* BSA Youth Application

* BSA Health and Medical Records with immunization records

* Copy of Scout's Medical Insurance Card

* BSA Consent/Release Form

* Troop 59 & Parish Consent/Release Form

* Payment of $100 registration fee  

UNIFORMS Boys and adult leaders are expected to wear the full Scout uniform, or an approved alternate, to all troop activities.  

Class A Uniform – Includes the BSA Approved Scout Shirt, Pants, and Socks.   Must be worn at Troop Meetings and during all Troop travel including campouts.

Class B Uniform - Includes the BSA Approved Scout Pants and Troop or other Scout T-Shirt.  Class B is an approved alternate to the full uniform, but is only worn during camping trips, service projects, and other times as announced by the Scoutmaster.

In all cases, the boys must be neat in appearance. Shirt tails must be tucked in, and close toed shoes worn, unless otherwise approved.
